01 · Policy form
Seven clauses. Every one remains correctable.
Scope: Emergentism editorial, research, and public-projection practice only.
Nothing promotes itself.
Keep possibility wide; make commitment accountable.
Preserve ancestry; correction creates a successor rather than silently overwriting.
Capability, intelligence, popularity, product position, or consensus grants no authority.
Keep proposal, Judgment, authorization, execution, receipt, outcome, and revision distinct.
Count creation, destruction, and preservation separately by bearer and horizon; never hide them inside one unsupported scalar.
Publicity begins another feedback loop: reach is not truth, and correction, contestability, and Exit remain available.
02 · Explanatory debt
A policy is useful only while its rivals and kills stay live.
Strongest rivals
ordinary source criticism, audit trails, version control, decision journals, and scientific peer review may supply the same discipline with less vocabulary
a faster risk-proportionate process may outperform the full stack for reversible low-consequence work
Kill criteria
supersede or narrow the policy if it systematically blocks justified action, hides real authority, or makes correction harder
retract any clause that preserves harmful data against valid privacy, deletion, revocation, contract, or legal duties
do not promote to SUPPORTED unless admitted independent outcomes beat named simpler controls on error detection, correction, reversibility, or bearer protection
