PD_00: MASTER PARADOX INDEX
Directory: 02_PARADOX_DISSOLUTIONS/
Target: VIVEKA Architects / Theoretic Reviewers
Status: Canonical index (revised 2026-03-22)
Canonical Numbering Reference: This is the authoritative paradox numbering system for the EFR. All conflicts between this index, the main framework file, and standalone documents are resolved here. For the full cross-reference and conflict resolution history, see PARADOX_NUMBERING_RESOLUTION.md (in 07_THE_LENS/02_PARADOX_DISSOLUTIONS/; link removed to prevent cycle).
MIGRATION NOTICE: THE TRANSITIONS ARC
The files formerly known as PD-01 (Mind-Body), PD-02 (Free Will), and PD-03 (Problem of Evil) have been formally migrated out of the Paradox series and re-indexed into the 04_TRANSITIONS sequence. They are transitions, not formal topological paradoxes.
The Paradox Dissolution sequence correctly begins at PD_04.
All legacy numbering via dashes (PD-##) is deprecated. Underscores (PD_##) are canonical.
STATUS: All planned paradox dissolutions now exist. PD_17 (QM/GR Unification) has been moved to archive as an incomplete draft. PD_25 (2026-04-29) integrates the quantum-foundations source set as an evidence-tier boundary: physics
[A], framework translation[I], stronger systemic awareness-collapse / retrocausal / F5-as-physics claims[C].Workspace-slice note: This index names a broader paradox corpus than is locally present in the current workspace slice. Missing files should be treated as corpus references, not broken canon. For the local audit, see 00_PARADOX_SUITE_AUDIT.md (local file; link removed to prevent cycle).
Non-numbered synthesis note: This slice may also contain
00_*bridge documents that synthesize multiple paradoxes at once. Those documents support navigation and interpretation but do not introduce or change canonical PD numbering.Lexical Note (Dissolved vs Reframed): While we retain the term "Dissolutions" for internal structural reasons (and in directory names), we acknowledge that externally, these phenomena are better described as "Reframed." The text of the documents uses "reframed" to maintain precision without unnecessary aggression toward existing physics.
DEFINITIVE NUMBERING TABLE
This table is the single source of truth. If any other document shows a different number for a paradox, this table wins.

Key Numbering Conflicts Resolved
| Conflict | Resolution |
|---|---|
| Main file listed PD-01 through PD-07; index said PD-01-03 moved to TRANS | Resolved: PD-01-03 are archived under TRANS. Active sequence begins at PD_04. |
| Main file: PD-04 = Ship of Theseus; Index: PD-04 = Zeno | Resolved: PD_04 = Zeno (index wins). Ship of Theseus is PD_06 / PD_19. |
| Main file: PD-06 = Liar Paradox; Standalone: PD-06 = Fermi | Resolved: PD_06 = Ship of Theseus. Liar = PD_08. Fermi = PD_07. |
| Two Is-Ought documents (standalone + PD-10) | Resolved: Both retained. PD_10 is the detailed/indexed version. No standalone was ever formally indexed as PD_09. |
| Two Mind-Body treatments (PD_01 + PD-14) | Resolved: PD_01 archived to 99_ARCHIVE/. PD_14 is canonical detailed treatment. |
THE ACTIVE DISSOLUTION SEQUENCE
Each dissolution follows the specific diagnostic pipeline: Detect Topology Error $\rightarrow$ Map to $\mathbb{C}P^1$ $\rightarrow$ Deploy the Metric $\rightarrow$ Verify Geometry
Reading note: The one-line summaries below are compressed mnemonics, not substitutes for the underlying papers. Where the local file is absent from this workspace slice, treat the summary as a corpus pointer rather than a verified local artifact.
- PD_04: Zeno's Paradoxes (Reframed: the paradox assumes infinite discrete traversal where the framework posits bounded physical resolution)
- PD_05: The One and the Many (Reframed: unity and plurality are treated as multiplicative complements rather than additive rivals)
- PD_06: The Ship of Theseus (Reframed: identity tracks operational continuity
$\\Phi$, not mere part replacement in$V$) [I] - PD_07: The Fermi Paradox (Reframed: the bifurcation filter — most civilizations die under
η > 0, survivors may become low-signature) - PD_08: The Liar Paradox (Reframed: self-reference fails when the system exceeds its stable closure condition)
- PD_09: Leibniz's Necessary Being (Reframed: the framework relocates necessity from a supreme entity to a self-bounding condition)
- PD_10: The Is-Ought Gap (Reframed conditionally: within the axiom set, extraction is self-terminating and the multiplicative geometry constrains Ought)
- PD_13: The Hard Problem (Reframed: awareness is not missing from reality but extracted from direct experience and then falsely treated as absent from third-person description)
(PD_11 through PD_24 cover advanced problems: free will, measurement, the hard problem, mind-body, evil, meaning, QM/GR unification, universals, identity persistence, philosophical and scientific implications, the completion thesis, and the third unveiling. See the Definitive Numbering Table above for the full list.)
Evidence Tier: [I] Interpretive (most dissolutions). The dissolutions presented here are coherent readings within the EFR framework. They are not established independently of the framework's axioms. See The Honest Position.
CLASSIFICATION NOTES
Meta-Documents (Not Paradox Dissolutions)
The following PD-numbered entries are implications essays or meta-documents, not dissolutions of classical paradoxes. They are retained in the sequence for continuity but readers should note they do not follow the standard dissolution pipeline (Detect Topology Error → Map to ℂP¹ → Deploy Metric → Verify Geometry):
| PD# | Type | What It Actually Does |
|---|---|---|
| PD_20 | Implications essay | Discusses what remains for philosophy after the dissolutions |
| PD_22 | Implications essay | Discusses what the framework means for physics (overlaps PD_17) |
| PD_23 | Structural claim | Tests a bounded structural-closure claim for the dissolution suite |
| PD_24 | Philosophical thesis | Proposes "finity" as a third structural concept alongside zero and infinity |
Paradoxes Treated Only in Synthesis (No Standalone PD File)
The following classical paradoxes appeared only in a withdrawn cross-paradox synthesis and do not have current standalone dossiers. Their presence in a historical inventory is not a resolution.
- The Trolley Problem — treated as an extraction artifact (the impossible binary forced by D4-only framing)
- The Munchausen Trilemma — treated as a foundational-regress artifact reframed through ground-facing givenness
- The Problem of Induction — treated as an extraction of direct pattern-recognition into formal prediction
- The Euthyphro Dilemma — treated as a false binary between high-priority command and independent good
These may receive standalone PD numbers in a future expansion or may remain covered only in the synthesis document.
