PARADOX SUITE AUDIT

Twenty-six classical paradoxes reframed through the framework's lens — each with its evidence tier and kill-criterion.

PARADOX SUITE AUDIT

Directory: 02_PARADOX_DISSOLUTIONS/ Audience: Framework maintainers, editors, and theory reviewers Mode: Local audit of the active paradox slice Status: Active integrity bridge

Purpose

This file translates the broader paradox-suite review into the smaller set of files actually present in this workspace.

The review named real issues: numbering drift, duplicated treatments, tonal overreach, unresolved proofs, and missing engagement with contemporary literature. Some of those issues are already partly resolved in this slice. Some remain open. Many refer to files that are simply not present here.

This audit keeps those categories separate.

Core Issues At A Glance

The current slice can now state the central problems more cleanly:

  1. Numbering drift: structurally repaired by the canonical index, though older references still exist in the wider corpus.
  2. Fermi split: locally reconciled as a bifurcation filter, though still interpretive.
  3. Duplication without differentiation: partly repaired for mind-body and is-ought by explicit legacy-vs-indexed notes.
  4. Claims outrunning proof: still active. The largest remaining debts are the Power-Max derivation, ~~ABM support for R* ≈ 1.5~~ (R ≈ 1.5 falsified* 2026-04-09; actual η_c ≈ 0.58 — qualitative threshold claim [S] survives, numerical value withdrawn), and fuller formal support for some paradox dissolutions, including the new hard-problem reframing.
  5. Incomplete work inside the canon: now made explicit for PD_17 rather than hidden.
  6. Triadic method not consistently followed in presentation: improved in the Lens foreword, but still a style risk across the wider corpus. [I]

What Is Actually Present Here

The live paradox slice currently includes:

Related bridge material also exists in:

Already Resolved Locally

1. Numbering authority now exists

The workspace already has a single canonical numbering file:

That means the earlier contradiction between the main framework file, the standalone dissolutions, and the index has a real local authority to defer to.

2. Fermi has already been partly reconciled

The earlier divergence between:

is already handled locally as a two-path or staged account:

The remaining issue is tone and physical plausibility, not bare contradiction.

3. The completion claim already names the Godel boundary

The former completion chapter distinguished categorical from formal completeness, but that distinction did not earn closure. The chapter is now withheld and no current paradox dossier claims corpus completion.

4. The literature layer already carries verdicts

../../06_TRANSLATION/ACADEMY/02_LITERATURE_SYNTHESIS/LIT-002_PARADOX_SURVEY.md already does some of the work the review asked for:

So the literature bridge is ahead of some earlier critiques.

Still Open In The Local Slice

1. Power-Max remains compressed

PD_10_IS_OUGHT.md still states the Power-Max Lemma in abbreviated form. It does not yet provide:

The numerical threshold claim has been falsified. The qualitative claim (that a cooperation threshold exists) should be treated as [S] structural.

2. Completion language still needs proof debt attached

The wider “categorical completion” posture is retired. Gödel results apply only under their formal hypotheses, and unclosed proof surfaces remain open rather than being absorbed into a completion narrative.

3. Tone still outruns tier in places

The paradox documents are better than earlier corpus generations, but some language still overstates what [I] or [S] can currently carry.

The right correction is not to remove the ambitious claim.

It is to keep saying:

4. The active slice is too small to settle the whole review

Many documents named in the broader review are absent here. That means claims about duplication, incompleteness, or literature engagement for those files cannot be fully adjudicated from this slice alone.

Not In This Slice

The local workspace does not currently contain the full paradox corpus described in the broader review.

Examples of items not locally present here include:

Those judgments should be preserved as review guidance, but not represented as already-integrated local edits.

Next High-Value Moves

  1. Add full proof and ABM support for the Power-Max Lemma.
  2. Attach remaining proof debt explicitly whenever completion language is used.
  3. Keep moderating strong paradox claims so tone matches tier.
  4. Bring more of the canonical paradox files into the active workspace before attempting a full corpus-level paradox rewrite.
